Job Description:

This role will report to the Class underwriter, ICT. You will provide operational support to the ICT Department in an efficient and professional manner and in accordance with the agreed procedures and service standards. Your role will contribute to the overall success of the ICT Department in achieving its objectives as part of overall Company Strategy.

Key Responsibilities

Create submission records in the IRIS underwriting system and monitor pipeline skeleton Estimated Premium Income (EPI) ensuring accurate figures are entered.

Create the Barbican operating support system workflow and file all relevant underwriting documentation (submission information/quotes/Slips/QA tool output/pricing tools and any other relevant exhibits) ensuring the file is contract certain.

Manage the internal workflows through the risk lifecycle ensuring tasks are progressed and completed in a timely manner.

Manage the Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) for the Underwriting Unit and inform the Business Group Leader/Divisional Operations Officer of overdue metrics.

Complete the Adsensa tool for all lead business and provide underwriters with any feedback on slips which are not contract certain and ensure any amendments are received in a timely manner.

Where required coordinate with Compliance regarding the completion of Sanction checks.

Send slips for processing to the Barbican Business Services team ensuring the team have all relevant information and perform a quality assurance check of the IRIS entries for data quality.  GLR and PMD information (where applicable) should be provided to Barbican Business Services team at this point.

Responsible for updating IRIS when the risk based peer review task(s) is completed and conducting a final file check to ensure all relevant documentation is recorded.

Processing endorsements and declarations (where applicable) in IRIS and filing the documentation within the relevant internal systems.

Where binders or facility business is written within your underwriting unit - assist with the preparation of the due diligence file and subsequent monitoring of monthly risk, premium and claims Bordereau.

Dealing with any signing queries which the Barbican Business Services team advise of in a timely manner

Liaising with the Credit Controller and Divisional Operations Officer to monitor and resolve any Aged Debt queries and assist with collection as appropriate.

Assist the Syndicate Manager with the Performance Management Data (PMD) return for the Underwriting Unit.

Produce slip session packs for review.

Ensure completion of any Conduct Risk Questionnaires/ Insurance Act compliance or checklists where required.

Attendance at Lloyd’s between 11.00 – 13.00 and 14.30 – 16.00, where appropriate.

Other ad-hoc duties consistent with the role.
