David Warrington
David joined Barbican in November 2016 as an underwriter for marine reinsurance.
Most recently, David was a marine and energy underwriter at Swiss Re, working across the company’s London marine and energy, and P&I accounts. During his ten years at the firm, he successfully managed a range of key client and broker accounts, including structuring a number of bespoke, multi-line products for large organisations. Prior to this, David worked for Markel International having joined the company in 1998.

Stephen Barnard
Stephen joined Barbican in September 2013 and is assistant underwriter for marine reinsurance.
Stephen joined the company as an insurance apprentice and successfully graduated from the Barbican Insurance Academy in October 2014.
Stephen is Cert CII qualified and is currently working towards Dip CII accreditation.

Mike Harrington
Mike joined Barbican in November 2009 as underwriter for marine reinsurance.
Mike achieved Level 4 expert underwriter status at Swiss Re, becoming senior marine treaty underwriter and vice president. In 2008 he took up an advisory role within the marine reinsurance team of a leading broker, assisting with risk analysis, pricing and slip construction.

Harvey Jacobs
Harvey joined Barbican in December 2007 and is business group leader for marine reinsurance.
Harvey began his marine insurance and reinsurance career at Alliance Insurance (now part of RSA) in 1975. He joined Swiss Re UK in 1981 and spent almost 23 years there, most latterly as head of marine underwriting. In 2004 he joined Endurance Worldwide as marine reinsurance underwriting manager.
Harvey has been a member of the Joint Excess Loss Committee since the mid-1990s.

Simon Saunders
Simon joined Barbican in April 2010 and is division head of marine, aviation and transport.
Simon has over twenty years of experience in the insurance industry. In 1994 he joined a small firm of management consultants dedicated to the insurance industry. 1997 saw Simon return to broking with the international marine reinsurance division at Aon. In 2005, he joined Agnew Higgins Pickering, working in international marine and energy reinsurance.
