Our claims team benefits from decades of market experience in dealing with a broad spectrum of claims, from the straightforward through to the most complex scenarios. Close contact with our underwriters enables a rapid response time no matter how demanding the loss event.
Working in tandem with the underwriting management team, we monitor and review the claims business requirements. This enables us to provide the service platform and management information needed to support our clients, and also carefully select and supervise the external service providers with whom we work.
James Roberts is head of operations for BMAL.
James joined the company in November 2010 having worked for 10 years previously in a claims adjusting role at two leading Lloyd's syndicates.
He is responsible for the management and oversight of the group claims function and managing agency claims team. James liaises closely with actuarial, operations and underwriting management to ensure that claims fully supports underwriting strategy and business development.
In addition, James is responsible for the outwards reinsurance administration team within Group Operations.
He is an Associate of the Chartered Insurance Institute (ACII).
Sian joined in 2016 as Syndicate Claims Manager.
Prior to joining the company, Sian spent 10 years at WRB Underwriting where she held a number of senior claims roles. She has experience of multiple commercial classes and has specialised in both domestic and international complex financial loss and liability claims.
Sian qualified as a lawyer in 2004 and prior to her in-house roles worked as an insurance litigation lawyer in the City.
Darren joined in January 2018 and is team leader for insurance.
Darren is the UK & International Breach Response contact for the company, responsible for providing the first port of call for breach response assistance to our clients.
Darren has over 23 years’ experience in the insurance industry, in both Lloyd’s and company markets, having previously worked for ACE/Chubb Insurance for 17 years where he handled Professional E&O, Cyber/Tech and Financial Lines claims.
Georgie joined the company in December 2014 and is a senior claims adjuster for energy.
Prior to joining, Georgie spent twelve years at Xchanging in a variety of claims adjusting and management roles. Georgie started her career at Alexander Forbes where she spent three years working as an associate claims technician.
Georgie is also an Associate Member of the Association of Average Adjusters and is Cert CII qualified.
Andy joined in January 2017 and is a senior claims adjuster within specialty and cyber.
Prior to joining the company, Andy held a number of senior claims handling roles across various classes of business, including roles at Lexington Insurance and AIG.
Andy has over 30 years’ experience within the London insurance market.
Mike joined the company in September 2017 and is team leader for reinsurance.
Mike specialises in marine treaty, with knowledge of malicious acts, aviation war and political violence treaty business, engaging with clients and brokers on a global basis.
Mike has over 35 years’ experience in the London market, previously working for a Lloyds broker as a senior claims advocate.
David joined in June 2016 and is now a senior claims adjuster.
Prior to joining the company, David was senior claims adjuster at Liberty Syndicate Management and has also previously worked for Atrium, Ace Tempest Re and Marsh.
John joined in June 2019 as a senior claims adjuster handling property-related matters.
Prior to joining the company, John held a number of senior positions in claims handling and loss adjusting, including roles at Chubb, ACE, Travelers, Ansvar and Crawford & Company.
John has over 25 years’ experience within the London and international insurance markets.
Piotr Radomski is a claims adjuster, having joined the company in February 2013.
Piotr was previously a claims handler in the marine division of Groupama Transport in London, where he handled marine hull and machinery claims. Prior to this, he was a loss adjuster at Buckley Scott, also in London, where we worked primarily on contractors liability claims and UK property claims. He also worked as an assistant adjuster at Charles Taylor Adjusting.
Piotr holds a CII Certificate in Insurance and is studying towards his CII Diploma.
Joe joined in August 2016 and is a senior operations analyst within our claims team.
Prior to joining the company, Joe was working in the commercial property department within Aviva Insurance where he held roles in MI & capacity planning and prior to this as a claims adjuster.
Joe holds a CII Certificate in Insurance.
Frankie is a senior operations analyst having joined the company in December 2008.
Frankie has a wide range of experience across a number of claims, operations and risk capture roles at the company.
Prior to joining the company, Frankie spent 3 years at QBE having started her career at JLT as a claims technician.
Charles joined in December 2018 as operations analyst within our claims team.
Prior to joining the company, Charles was working in the claims department at Travelers where he was an operations analyst and claims handler.
