Simon joined Barbican in April 2010 and is head of reinsurance, overseeing Syndicate 1955's reinsurance lines.
Simon has over twenty years of experience in the insurance industry. In 1994 he joined a small firm of management consultants dedicated to the insurance industry. 1997 saw Simon return to broking with the international marine reinsurance division at Aon.
In 2005, he joined Agnew Higgins Pickering, working in international marine and energy reinsurance.
Tom joined Barbican in November 2014 and is now head of property treaty.
Prior to joining Barbican, Tom was a vice president at Guy Carpenter. He joined the reinsurance broking firm in 2009 following the acquisition of John B. Collins Associates (Collins), and was primarily responsible for placing North American property reinsurance business in the London market. He began his industry career at Collins in 2006 and worked across a diverse range of accounts spanning binding authorities, ILWs and property reinsurance business.
Emma joined Barbican in December 2018 as class underwriter for property treaty.
Prior to joining Barbican, Emma was at CNA Hardy where she spent 11 years most recently in the role as senior underwriter for property treaty, managing the US, Canada and Caribbean portfolio.
Emma has over 12 years’ experience in the insurance market.
James joined Barbican in July 2013 and is assistant underwriter for property reinsurance.
James joined Barbican immediately after graduating from the University of Manchester with BA Hons in Spanish and Business.
James is Cert CII qualified.
Charlie joined Barbican in May 2018 as underwriting assistant for property treaty.
Charlie has two years of experience in the reinsurance/insurance market prior to joining Barbican.
Charlie is working towards his Cert CII.
