Jessica joined Barbican in January 2008 and is underwriting manager for malicious acts.

Jessica has over ten years of experience in the insurance industry. She started her career working in the claims department at JLT before moving on to Endurance to take up the role of underwriting assistant for the marine treaty team.

Jessica is ACII qualified.

Simon joined Barbican in April 2010 and is division head of marine, aviation and transport.

Simon has over twenty years of experience in the insurance industry. In 1994 he joined a small firm of management consultants dedicated to the insurance industry. 1997 saw Simon return to broking with the international marine reinsurance division at Aon. In 2005, he joined Agnew Higgins Pickering, working in international marine and energy reinsurance.

George joined Barbican in June 2016 as class underwriter, political and trade credit risks.

George has over 30 years of experience in political and trade credit risks, including eight years as a specialist broker and over 20 years as a Lloyd’s underwriter. Most recently, he was a class underwriter, political risk, trade credit and terrorism at Argo Syndicate 1200, having joined the firm in 2013. Prior to this, he was a senior underwriter, political risk and trade credit at Hardy Syndicate 382, a position which he held from 2004-2013. Other roles have included: political risk and trade credit account underwriter at Faraday Syndicate 435 and Secretan Syndicate 367. During his time as a broker he was a director at specialist political risk Lloyd’s broker Berry Palmer & Lyle Ltd and a manager at Investment Insurance International one of the pioneering brokers of political risk.

Angus joined Barbican in November 2017 as underwriter for malicious acts.

Most recently, he was an account manager, marine kidnap & ransom, and hull war at Seacurus, having joined the firm in 2013. Prior to this, Angus worked for a shipbroking firm specialising in the oil, gas, and renewable energy sectors.

Angus also holds a degree in Business with Marketing from Northumbria University.

Charlotte Pritchard

Charlotte joined Barbican from Sompo Canopius where she was assistant underwriter, political violence and terrorism.

She began her insurance career at Brit Insurance in 2006, before joining Canopius Managing Agents later that year. During her ten years with the firm, she also worked within the firm’s crisis management division, focusing on political violence and terrorism.

Patrick joined Barbican in November 2017 as assistant underwriter for malicious acts.

Most recently, he was an assistant underwriter, marine risks at Seacurus, having joined the firm in 2014. Prior to this, Patrick worked as an assistant account manager for an energy and marine insurance broker where he gained experience in various marine lines. 

Patrick also holds a degree in Agri-Business Management from Newcastle University.

Ivan joined Barbican in January 2017 as an underwriting assistant within the Malicious Acts team.

Most recently, Ivan held the position of underwriting assistant for  Newbridge Risk Partners – a division of Castel Underwriting Agencies Limited focusing on War, Terrorism and Political Violence – having taken up the role in 2015.

Ivan also holds a degree in History from the University of Durham.
