The two main areas of cover we provide are cyber/network risks and technology errors and omissions. Available through our Barbican eRisks modules, coverage is offered on a combined or standalone basis and includes:
- Technology and miscellaneous errors and omissions - including breach of contract, avoidance of counterclaim and defamation.
- Multi-media liability - including breach of website copyright, plagiarism and defamation.
- Security and privacy liability - including liability to employees and customers in the event of data theft.

- Data recovery and loss of business income - including denial-of-service attacks and system malfunction.

Graeme joined Barbican in April 2017 and is business group leader for cyber, technology and media.
Most recently, Graeme was practice leader and underwriter, tech PI and cyber at Allianz Global Corporate & Specialty. He was responsible for driving the growth and development of the firm’s tech PI and cyber portfolio.
Prior to this, he was a senior technology and cyber underwriter at XL from 2012 to 2014, based in London. During his 13-year insurance career, Graeme has also held positions at Hiscox and Zurich
Graeme started his career as an IT consultant before retraining as a lawyer specialising in technology and intellectual property litigation.
Richard joined Barbican in April 2017 and is underwriting manager for cyber, media and technology.
With 15 years London insurance market experience Richard was most recently a senior tech PI and cyber underwriter at Allianz Global Corporate & Specialty, focusing on the group’s technology errors & omissions and cyber liability portfolio. Prior to this, he was a cyber & technology underwriter at Principia Underwriting.
During his insurance career, Richard has also worked at Willis, ultimately as divisional director within the firm’s financial lines and technology, media and telecommunications practice and RSA Group Plc as a professional liability underwriter .
Ed joined Barbican in September 2012 and is assistant underwriter for cyber, technology and media.
Prior to this role, Ed spent 4 years in Barbican's international casualty reinsurance team.
Ed is Dip CII qualified and is working towards full ACII accreditation. Ed also holds a degree in economics and management.
Sophie joined Barbican in January 2017 and is assistant underwriter for cyber and professional indemnity.
Sophie was development underwriter at Hiscox prior to joining Barbican, having joined the commercial team at Hiscox as a trainee development underwriter.
Sophie is working towards ACII accreditation. Sophie also holds a degree in History and International relations from Kingston University.
Jamie joined Barbican in November 2016 as an underwriting assistant for cyber, technology and media.
Prior to Barbican he spent 2 years in the cyber team at CFC Underwriting as an assistant underwriter, having initially joined in 2014.
Jamie is Cert CII qualified and also holds a degree in Business Information Technology from the University of Portsmouth.
Jack joined Barbican in April 2017 as an underwriting assistant for cyber, technology and media.
Prior to joining Barbican, Jack has banking experience at the British Arab Commercial Bank and the Royal Bank of Scotland.
Jack also holds a degree in Politics from the University of Portsmouth.
