With over 25 years in the business, Andy began his career in with Alexander Howden. He moved to RWS Lark in 1987, agreeing and settling US and UK liability claims. In 1996, Andy oversaw the merger of RWS Lark with Catlin, staying with the business until 1999.

Moving to Syndicate 1204 as Assistant Underwriter and Syndicate Coordinator, he focused on Healthcare and, by 2003, was jointly underwriting the HPL and LTC book. When the syndicate merged with Chaucer 1084, Andy continued in this role. He also developed new areas of business, including an innovative Australian hospital product.

Andy Hornsblow joined Barbican in 2008, bringing a rare combination of management skills and focused underwriting experience—together with excellent working relationships across the healthcare sector of the London market.
