Andrew boasts over 20 years experience in the FinanciaI Institutions, D&O and PI markets. His career began at Bowrings, moving to SJ Burnhope Syndicate1067 in 1990 as Financial Institutions deputy underwriter.

An opportunity in Australia with Marsh brought Andrew back to broking, before moving in 1994 to Johnson & Higgins, where he was responsible for developing financial lines business from Asia, Australia, Eastern and Southern Europe.

Following the merger of Marsh and J&H in 1997, Andrew was head of the Financial Institutions placement team, overseeing 30+ people and a global book.

He also had responsibility for the Marsh commercial D&O placement group, before moving to Bermuda for 4 years to manage a portfolio of Fortune200 business into the Bermuda marketplace. Andrew was on the Marsh Global FINPRO Advisory Board, involved in drafting policy review templates, white papers on D&O issues and analysis of market trends and capacity.

Returning to London with Marsh FINPRO in 2008, Andrew was responsible for new business and coverage development across financial & professional lines from all territories outside the UK and development of International Binding Authorities across all product lines.

Andrew joined Barbican in March 2009 to head the new Financial & Professional Lines operation.
