David brings to Barbican a first-class track record in Marine and Aviation Reinsurance, stretching back over 20 years working in both the London and European markets. This experience is combined with exceptional and proven management qualities.

His early career started as a Box assistant at Lloyd’s, progressing through various syndicates, and culminating in a move to Germany to work for Europa Ruckversichertung in Cologne as Marine Underwriter responsible for around $40m premium income.

In 2003, he returned to Lloyd’s as Marine Reinsurance Underwriter for DS Christiansen Syndicate 958, heading their $30m premium Marine Underwriting Department.

Prior to joining Barbican in June 2008, David was at Endurance Worldwide Insurance. His last role there was as Business Unit Manager, managing the entire Specialty Underwriting Department with premium income amounting to some $45 million.
