Barbican's UK Insurance division fields a strong team of specialist underwriters headed by Austyn Tusler. Operating across a variety of product niches, the primary focus of Barbican’s UK Insurance division is on corporate, middle market, and scheme/affinity group clients in the UK and Ireland.
Corporate
Bespoke solutions, individually underwritten for UK domiciled companies. Property and Casualty ‘mono-line’ offerings. Open Market, providing Direct and Fac, Primary and Excess.
Middle market
Package accounts across all lines of business, targeted at specific industries. Barbican-branded products and wordings, individually underwritten.
Schemes and affinity groups
Portfolio-underwritten homogeneous risks, typically for clients such as buying groups. Major classes currently Property, Employers’ Liability, General Liability and Professional Indemnity.
Property
UK and Irish domiciled risks. Exposures worldwide with excess required for any critical catastrophe. Primary and excess – but not ‘ground up’, other than middle market and scheme/affinity group business.
Casualty
UK and Irish domiciled risks. Employers Liability, Public and Products Liability. Worldwide exposures including exports to USA/Canada. Primary and excess of loss.
UK SME
leading expertise and experience in the UK SME market and microbusiness sector. Integrated solutions for PI and general liabilities tailored to clients’ needs; bespoke solutions for specialised niche areas, affinity schemes and binders.
