Barbican’s International Casualty Reinsurance business is managed by Andy Caldwell, who also heads up the whole Non-Marine Reinsurance Division.
We offer Excess of Loss, Proportional and Stop Loss reinsurance to clients domiciled in all territories worldwide with the exception of North America. The operation acts mainly as a follow market in the classes listed here (although will consider leading genuine new business).
Public & Products Liability
Multinational risks including exports to USA and Canada and subsidiaries in USA and Canada.
Employers’ Liability/WC
Normal maximum £2m per risk within first £10m—but up to £5m where treaty limits are £25 million.
Motor Third Party Liability
Normal maximum £2m per event on a programme without an unlimited layer. Maximum 5% on programmes including unlimited.
Professional Indemnity
Including subsidiaries in USA and Canada. Normal maximum £2m per risk. London Market maximum £1.5m per risk.
Directors’ & Officers’ Liability
Including ADR 1, 11 and 111. Normal maximum £1.5m per risk.
Financial Institutions, Crime, PI and D&O
Including subsidiaries in USA and Canada. Normal maximum £2m per risk.
Medical Malpractice
Non-USA and Canada doctors and hospitals. Normal maximum 1.5m per risk.
Decennial Liability
Specifically underwritten country by country. Normal maximum £2m per programme.
